community connections

Anne believes that we are all connected and part of something bigger than ourselves. By developing and strengthening relationships across communities, sectors, and interests, we can learn from each other and do more for our world and our future. Through Anne’s volunteer and professional work, she is connected to a number of different people and communities.

We invite you to visit their websites to learn more about the work they do, and please feel free to reach out to Anne if you’re looking to connect.

Calgary on Purpose is a platform for Calgarians to share with each other what it means to be a Calgarian and what they want their city to be in the future. Anne is currently volunteering to lead the facilitation process and design for the second round of community conversations.

HAWKWOOD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

Anne has lived in the community of Hawkwood in Calgary, Alberta since 2009, and has always been an active community volunteer. Anne spent a part of her first maternity leave volunteering to lead an engagement process called Our Hawkwood that resulted in the development of a community plan. This engagement process earned the community association and Anne an IAP2 Canada Core Values Award for “Public Participation for the Greater Good” in 2014. Another outcome of the engagement process was the development of a community garden, which Anne has supported as a volunteer committee member since 2016. Anne currently serves on the board of the HCA as the community garden liaison.
